Stuart Barton – Founder

 

 

 

 

A South African educated entrepreneur, Stuart founded the Pi  in 2007 to encourage innovative political discourse in South Africa. Stuart has lived and worked on four continents and presently lives in Hong Kong. Stuart holds a Bachelors degree in engineering from University of Cape Town, an MBA from the University of Surrey and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Before founding the Pi   Stuart had investigated the possible formation of a special administrative region somewhere in southern Africa. The Pi  continues his initiative.

Dr Helena Barton

 

 

 

 

Helena is a social anthropologist with broad experience in urban and rural development projects in South Africa. A former consultant to the South African Commission for Restitution of Land Rights, several NGOs and human rights lawyers, and a former lecturer at the University of Stellenbosch, Helena brings her expertise on land rights, social welfare, human rights and post-apartheid reconciliation to the Pi . Helena holds a BA Honours in Development Studies from the UK and an MA and a PhD from the Universities of Cape Town and Stellenbosch, respectively.
